What does over-moisturized skin look like?

Have you ever noticed your skin feeling unusually greasy, even after washing? This could be a sign of over-moisturized skin. Other indicators include the appearance of over-moisturized skin bumps, and skin that feels congested. Recognizing these signs is the first step in understanding what over-moisturized skin looks like and how to address it.

How to avoid over-moisturizing

Wondering how to fix over-moisturized skin? It’s all about finding the right balance. Rather than focusing on heavy moisture layering, look for products containing active hydrating ingredients. One option is the Dove Serum+ Oil Body Wash range, which is formulated with 50% glycerin serum. Glycerin attracts water and retains moisture, keeping your skin hydrated and improving your moisture barrier function. In general, a daily cleanse with shower oil followed by moisturizer post-shower will be enough to lock in moisture and keep skin soft and supple. If your skin is very oily or you sweat a lot, try a light body wash with a lightweight moisturizer instead.

Building a balanced skin routine

Creating a balanced skincare routine is key to maintaining healthy, hydrated skin. Begin with gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin cells and promote cell turnover. The Brown Sugar & Coconut Butter Body Scrub is perfect for this, offering a gentle yet effective exfoliation that leaves your skin smooth and ready to absorb moisture. Follow up with a moisturizing product that hydrates without heaviness. Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash is an excellent choice, as it’s formulated to regenerate your skin’s natural moisture for 24 hours. Remember, it’s not about layering lots of moisturizers but choosing products that work harmoniously with your skin.
